Health and Wellbeing

At Riverton Primary Campus (RPC) we are committed to creating quality learning opportunities for staff, students, and the wider community.

This includes strengthening each person’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development, and providing opportunities for members of our community to reflect on their own cultural identities.  We believe in creating a positive mental health environment for children and young people.

Our aim is for our community to flourish. Flourishing refers to the experience of life going well. It is a combination of feeling good and functioning effectively.  As a result of our desire to support the mental health of our students, staff and community, we have profiled Mental Health and Wellbeing in our business plan, 2023 and beyond.

Riverton Primary Campus works in conjunction with ‘Be You’ to support the mental health & wellbeing of our school community. Be You is a national initiative for educators, aimed at promoting and protecting positive mental health in children and young people. We use the evidence-based whole school program called Friendly Schools to develop the social and emotional wellbeing of our students. Lastly, we are working with Curtin University as part of the Act Belong Commit campaign to ensure our students, staff and community understand the importance of health and wellbeing for everyone.
